Jack C Irwin

Biography

A graduate of Trinity College Dublin and King's College London, Jack C Irwin is an actor and screenwriter with an intense love to create and perform. Inspired by his love of Anglo-Irish history as well as his working with children with autism in London, he has written his debut feature "Charlie Safe Home" to shed a light on Ireland's until recently forgotten contribution to the Great War, to illuminate how horrendous life in the trenches would have been for someone with autism, and to showcase one of the biggest injustices of the First World War - the execution of shell-shocked soldiers for desertion and cowardice. In doing so, he hopes to offer audiences a heartfelt, sobering and emotive experience of a war that sits ever uncomfortably in our popular memory. Never one to sit on his laurels, however, he is now writing psychological television thriller "Jihadi Joe" which revolves around a terrorist plot to kill the UK's first openly-gay Muslim prime minister.
