Biography

Pouria Afkhami was born in November 1990 in Mashhad, Iran. He moved to Malesia in 2006 and started photography in nightclubs of Koalalampour in 2008. He moved back to Iran in 2010 and started an underground fashion photo/videography and street art as a social media content producer and music video director. In September 2011 he got arrested and was under custody for 113 nights in Mashhad's central prison. He has been arrested a total of 3 times for expressing his POV, in which the second time was by the IRGC intelligence services for 17 nights in solitary. He then moved to Georgia and got into concert photography. During this time he shot Arash, Aref, Shahram Shabpare, Tohi, Rezaya, Omid, Sepideh, Babak Rahnama, Shadmehr Aghili, and Amir Tataloo's concerts. He worked in some festivals such as Tbilisi open-air festival in which he did photoshoots for Sevdaliza, Anathema, Tom Oddel, archive, and Leningrad band. He directed and produced music videos for an Iranian female activist and Persian rapper Justina ft. Jamin. He moved to Canada in 2019 and tried to blend into society. He now feels freer to apply his skills on a vaster horizon.
