Bev Kippenhan

Biography

Bev Kippenhan is an actor, arts administrator, theatre-maker, and podcast creator from Virginia, based in Sarasota, FL. She has dedicated the last twelve years to learning and creating, with special interests in immersive theatre and making the classics accessible for modern audiences. In 2020 she completed her Master's in Classical Acting at Bath Spa University in the UK, where for her thesis she researched, produced, and performed a piece analyzing the effect of isolation on the human mind and how theatre can be a coping mechanism and reflection tool - called Reaching. She has most recently performed in a social media version of Othello called Othello Online with dance and theatre company Momentum Acts, and before that a radio play of Julius Caesar in collaboration with Bath Spa University's Spark Fest. Kippenhan co-produces a podcast called CineShakes, which analyzes film and television adaptations and appropriations of William Shakespeare's work.
