Alex Reinhard is an award-winning writer/director and co-owner of Malix Media. He has worked extensively in the past seven years writing and directing national ads, documentaries, short films and music videos.
In 2019, Alex wrote and directed his first television pilot titled "Squid Ink," a story that follows a young college graduate named Shifter and his starry-eyed Overwatch teammates on a quixotic quest to become professional streamers. Shortly after the pilot premiered at the Portland Comedy Film Festival, it was picked up on a development deal where Alex was asked to deliver a full eight-episode season.
Alex also co-created a comic strip called "Spork and Wentz" about two hapless musicians/sewage plant workers who fall through a toilet and end up in a music underworld. "Spork and Wentz" was recently picked up by Maestro Film Works on a shopping deal to potentially become an animated series.
With two television series heading in the right direction, Alex decided to use 2020 to write his first feature film, "Muddy Goes to College," a classic college comedy that tells the tale of an intelligent dog who gets accepted into college, takes down an evil dean and becomes man's best student.
Alex lives in Philadelphia, Pa., with his wife, son and dog. He continues to develop "Squid Ink," "Spork and Wentz" and "Muddy Goes to College" while maintaining his position as the creative director for Malix Media and sketching out two more feature films.
