Biography

I use documentary films and photography to shed light and amplify solutions that enable refugees' self-reliance. I am lucky and privileged for many reasons, let me outline here some of them: * With the effort of my parents I received a college education in a prestigious university in Mexico. * I believe one should never stop learning, so I did an MBA and more recently an MFA in Photography. * I worked for the great Kellogg Company and lead amazing Supply Chain executives and workforce for more than 30 years. * I have resided in Mexico, USA, UK, and Australia. * I have traveled to many amazing countries in North America, Latin-America, Europe, Austral-Asia, and Africa. * I have a beautiful and loving wife from whom I have learned so much the last 32 years. * I have a son who is a successful finance executive in Qatar. * I have a daughter who is my partner in a social enterprise Home Storytellers that we co-founded. * I was able to retire from Kellogg's at age 51 with health and a lot of energy to start a second career. Now, I also understand that with privilege comes responsibility. That is why I decided to become a social entrepreneur and found HOME Storytellers to contribute to a better future for refugees. I have a family of migrants and I have been a very privileged migrant too, that is why I decided to do something for probably the most underprivileged migrants, the refugees. I strongly believe in the power of individual stories to accelerate social change by informing people's minds and hearts. With Home Storytellers I am producing and directing documentary short films to shed light and amplify sustainable solutions to the refugee crisis.
