Idil Guled

Idil Guled (born 7 October 2003) is an American actress. She began her acting career in 2019 in the second season of the Hulu series Castle Rock at age 15. She played young Nadia a Somali immigrant. Idil was born in Plano, Texas, the first of child of Ramala Iman and Mahdi Guled. She has two siblings Jabril and Nawal Guled. The family moved to Minnesota when Idil was eight years old. Idil was singing and acting before she could walk. She dreamt of being an actress when she grew up. Idil got a call one day at school asking if she would like to audition for Castle Rock. "When I heard that I had to speak Somali I was a little hesitant, but I love a challenge". Guled's mom was born in Mogadishu, Somalia, and she moved to Texas when she was nine. "My mom doesn't really speak Somali at home, only the daily things like brush your teeth, and clean your room". To prepare for the audition Idil and her mom practiced daily, "we practiced in the car, while folding laundry, on the phone, and before bed". Since her role in Castle Rock, Idil has been taking acting classes at The Guthrie Theater. Idil's future projects are unknown but she is continuing to pursue acting.
