Biography

Fezile Hlophe became South Africa's youngest football referee at just 16 years of age. He was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. He had dreamed of becoming a footballer but was diagnosed with throat cancer at age 13. However, Fezile did not let this hamper his passion for football and after beating cancer he went on to referee games in his local community. This led to him eventually become the youngest referee in South Africa, overseeing a 'MultiChoice Diski' Challenge match between Kaizer Chiefs and the University of Pretoria.
