Biography

D'Angelo is an American stage and screen actor known recently for his scene work as the wise and surprisingly affable Sterling Johnson from August Wilson's Radio Golf and the charming and charismatic con man, Bill Starbuck, from N. Richard Nash's Rainmaker. D'Angelo has been called "a natural" by top Hollywood casting director, Terry Berland. He is a face to watch out for in the 2020s. D'Angelo studies acting at the Studio Acting Conservatory in Washington, DC and has a strong dance background in hip hop, jazz, tap, and ballet. He is academically trained as an engineer and worked professionally for several years before breaking into acting. He is the consummate professional and continues to study the craft and business of acting through on-going classes and workshops with some of New York and Los Angeles' top instructors, including Terry Berland, Wendy Alane Wright, Amy Lyndon, Richard Lawson, James Ciccone, Jeff Dreisbach, Bill Coelius, and Kimberly Jürgen. He has studied Improv with The Groundlings Theatre & School. D'Angelo was born in Detroit, Michigan and is the son of Dr. Alisa (Newton) Smith and Arthur Woods, a Marine Corps veteran.
