Maytham Jbara

Maytham Jbara is an Iraqi and filmmaker and producer, based in Toronto, Canada. He studied cinema and TV at the College of Fine Arts, University of Baghdad, and was engaged with Iraq Independent Film Center for several years working on various feature and short films, including Son of Babylon, Path of Maryam, The Journey, by Mohammed Al-Daradji, Haifa Street, by Mohanad Hayal, and Mosul 980, by Ali Saeed, screened and awarded at the prestigious film festivals. In 2021, Maytham made his directorial debut with his short film Qadr, selected at the LA Shorts International Film Festival. He is currently working as a producer on several feature and short films and on the development of his feature film. Most of Maytham's work focuses on social justice issues and, at any opportunity, he aspires to teach and support young filmmaker's.
