Lucio Gallo

Lucio Gallo was born in Brazil, but since his early twenties has spent most of his life abroad in England, Denmark, Switzerland and the US. He started his artistic/professional life as an award-winning fine art photographer from the age of 17. Educated in Social Communication in the field of Cinema and Television, he soon began working as a director, producer, cinematographer and editor, making documentaries and commercials in 35mm and 16mm film for both cinema and television. As technology developed, Lucio began working with various digital media and computer graphics, though these took a back seat to his full-time involvement with holistic education at Brockwood Park School in England. Throughout his life, he maintained a serious interest in metaphysics, Jungian psychology, spirituality and philosophy. After a long hiatus from commercial work as a filmmaker, Lucio has been developing original fictional stories informed by philosophical interests and concerns about our nature and purpose in this world. After some years of writing and development, he now has a few completed scripts, and many connected projects at various stages. Though he's had extensive experience directing documentaries, commercials and short films, Lucio is braving a whole new world in fiction. But he insists on maintaining some of his old approach to filmmaking, both on an intellectual and practical level. He's concerned with content that has deep meaning (contributing to consciousness), and he prefers, when possible, to be his own cinematographer and camera operator.
