Biography

Bhavya Raj discovered his passion for music almost 10 years ago when he first picked up a guitar during his college days. What began as an amateur journey of small pub shows grew into an addiction with fuel that ran into 8+ hours of practice daily. Bhavya realized music was his calling and steered his path with music college, pursuing courses in Contemporary Music Harmony, Arranging, and Audio Production. Bhavya's music college years exposed him to many different styles of music, including RnB, Jazz, Hip Hop, Soul and so many others beyond traditional Indian music, and being immersed in an environment full of extremely talented and driven musicians showed him that his true appreciation and gratitude for music delved deep into his sub conscious being. Now an established, industry recognized musician and composer, Bhavya has been performing around the world with many industry stalwarts including the legendary trip Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Farhan Akhtar, Monali Thakur, Jasleen Royal, and outside of Bollywood, Dave Mustaine of Megadeth, and Steve Vai just to name a few, in various capacities including as a lead guitarist, Live Sound Engineer and other functions. As an artist, Bhavya credits Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy for being his mentors and guiding his musical journey through Mumbai. Without their guidance on work principles and ethics, and how to live and survive in the Bollywood music industry, Bhavya acknowledges that he would be half the musician he is today, and extends sincere gratitude for the abundant knowledge the humble geniuses have instilled in him. Bhavya has established a name for himself as a composer with works in TV serials, Jingles, Short Films, Documentaries and even has some work in the pipelines for a couple of upcoming Bollywood films. His knowledge and reputation has given him the opportunity to be involved as Chief Quality Control Advisor to some of India's top guitar manufacturers. Bhavya has lent his talent to various projects as a guitarist including projects for Indie Music Label, SaReGaMa, for feature film songs including Mujhe Ishq Hua Hai from the film Gabru Gang, as well as a short film entitled The Wallet starring Naseeruddin Shah. As a composer, he his works have been featured in TV serials like Savdhaan India, web-series including Breaking News, jingles for brands such as Rapido, Nutbud, and CKC Jewellers to name a few, the promotional cut of the film Gabru Gang and the documentary Blood Buddha. Now co-owner of Faqeer Pad Studios, Bhavya continues his work as a musician, composer and producer.
