A veteran Saudi TV writer and former film critic, Hazim Aljuryyan founded a few cultural and media initiatives including the pioneering online Arabic film forum Cinemac (2001) and Mad Tomato media company (2012). Before creating the acclaimed TV comedy Night Shift, Hazim wrote for the popular Ramadan series Tash Ma Tash and the medical comedy 37°. He started the cinema page in the pan-Arab daily Al-Sharq Al-Awsat in 2004 and wrote extensively about film and culture for a few years before creating the successful Youtube satire 15 to 9 with Mohammed Bazaid. Currently, Hazim works as the creative director of Mad Tomato.
