Martin Hroch

Martin Hroch is a actor that was born in Prague, Czech Republic and has immigrated to Canada at the age of 10. Even though originally he wanted to become a doctor he soon realized that what makes him happy the most is acting in film and television as he has an artistic mind with really good imagination. Although Martin was extremely shy he has started his journey into film in his early teens where he began to take film studies and theatre and has participated in many student film projects and theatre plays at his high school which has earned him scholarships to different summer film study programs and eventually took that further into University. Through his teen years and early twenties he has worked as a background performer in many TV and film projects and was even upgraded a couple of times. When his step father passed away in front of him, Martin had a hard time coping therefore he hasn't been involved in film for some time, however, recently he came back stronger than ever and is working hard making his dream a reality. Martin recognizes that all actors always need to continue working hard on their career therefore he constantly trains on his audition techniques and also on his Standard American Dialect. Martin has been compared to few actors in his lifetime including late Robin Williams and Chris Farley, also to Jonah Hill and Jack Black and at some point even Leonardo DiCaprio. Martin's response to being compared to other actors is always this "That's nice to hear but I am my own unique person and I would never compare myself to any of the greats". Martin is a person with a strong will and positive attitude who never gives up on his dreams and on the people he loves and cares about. He has a very big heart that is full of love and empathy and understanding for all people in all walks of life. Martin sees himself in such roles as Jonah Hill in "21 Jump Street" an underachieving cop that is forced to re-live high school as undercover) "True Story" (a disgraced New York Times reporter that just wants to get to the bottom of the story), Jack Black in "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" (a high school kid turned into Professor Shelly Oberon in a video game) Picture him as the American Businessman and former stock broker who ran a "pump and dump" stock fraud scheme...Jonah Hill in "The Wolf of Wall Street" or as a former writer who bought a ZOO...Matt Damon in "We Bought a ZOO" or A hyper over eager white Ninja...Chris Farley in "Beverley Hills Ninja" and perhaps even as a socially inept, future brother-in-law of Doug who suffers from ADHD and acts Childishly... Zach Galifianakis in "Hangover Trilogy" or lastly Robin Williams in movies such as "The Birdcage", "Patch Adams" or "Licensed to Wed". Martin loves to act and always works hard for what he wants and what he believes in. He hopes to take on more challenging roles and do not only comedy but also drama and action and biopics.
