Biography

Nat's professional career began at an early age with the Uxbridge Theatre Company. Performing theatre in a variety of roles right throughout her primary, intermediate and high school years, she then went on to graduate from Auckland and Waikato Universities with a Bachelor of Arts, Double Major in English and Classical Studies, with a minor in Theatre. She is also a qualified and experienced performing arts teacher, having obtained a Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Secondary) from the University of Auckland. She is a well established Theatre Studies teacher, teaching at ThePerformance.Net, Onehunga High School and Western Springs College. Since starting freelancing in 2013, Nat has taught privately and publicly, catering for all ages and abilities. On top of her university studies, Nat has trained extensively in various performing arts realms, from physical theatre to pole dancing with the likes of Fergus Aitkin, Patrick Graham, Beth Kayes and many more performing arts professionals. She continues to take classes and seek out professional development opportunities to feed her love and passion for learning. Nat's specialty in acting and entertainment lies within the realms of live performance. A multi-award winning performer and title holder, she combined her skills in improvisation, theatrical acting and her infallible ability to read a room to perform at her best, no matter whether she's in role as a roving character or MCing a corporate event. As a performing artist, Nat is known for her uncanny ability to take on various characters and roles with absolute conviction. Known as NZ's consummate mistress of disguise, she's won multiple awards for her character roles (in female and male roles) and has even had nationwide media attention with Newshub and TV3 featuring her in her original drag king character role Gary Krumbert and even following her all the way to Hollywood. As a live events performer, Nat has performed in over 180 events ranging from burlesque shows to weddings. As a presenter and MC, Nat has worked with the likes of New Zealand Fashion Week, Barfoot and Thompson and just recently presented the world's first 5 second launch event for the Samsung Galaxy S9 and the award winning launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9. She has also presented and MC'd many burlesque, cabaret and variety shows. Nat is also known under the moniker of Lilly Loca, which is the name she dons for all things burlesque orientated. On top of her vast experience in live performance, Nat has also starred in various TV, theatre and music production roles. She has also appeared in over 15 theatrical productions in varying roles including playing the lead as Marie Antoinette in Christopher Olwage's Coco for Rococo, "M" and "Angel" in Patrick Graham's Lost Girls, and Lavinia in Tom Sainsbury's take on Titus Andronicus. She has worked on the TV series Legend of the Seeker and had a lead role in KPS, Stauny (Shineshine Sound Systems) and OJ (Central Records) music video Thinkin. Recently, she had a lead speaking role in an online advertisement for the Samsung Galaxy S9 and is also has a primary role as characters 'Tara Dactyl' and 'Jam Rock Lead' in the NZ show Custard's World, screening online via the HeiHei app and on TV2. Nat is also an established dancer, being extensively trained in ballroom and Latin dancing up to silver bar level. She has also taken lessons in hip-hop, ballet and contemporary dancing.
