Kevin Michael Irvine

Biography

Kevin Michael Irvine is a filmmaker, director, writer, and editor. He has been makings films of various lengths throughout his career, which began at Marquette University and later at Boston University. His short film, "A Children's Tale," won best student film at the Boston Book Festival. Later, his Master's Thesis film, "The Fifth Victim," about the Kent State tragedy, was notable as being the first thesis film (at that time) of 45 minutes in length and shot with CinemaScope lenses. He re-made "A Children's Tale" into the short, "The Greenstone Narrated by Orson Welles," now available on YouTube. There is a large gap between this film and his latest film, "As Long As It Takes." During that time, he worked as a movie trailer producer, post production supervisor, and editor for a number of Hollywood advertising companies including Cimarron, Kaleidoscope Films, and Seiniger Advertising. He became Executive Director at Sony Pictures (Columbia/TriStar) where he worked on campaigns for "Cliffhanger," Sleepless In Seattle," "Hook," "Bugsy," "Terminator 2," "Rudy," "Philadelphia," and more. Later, he moved to Twentieth Century Fox and worked on campaigns for "Kingdom Of Heaven," "Life of Pi," "Avatar," 'X-Men," "Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes," and more. From 1999 through 2014 he was the editor and post production supervisor for ShoWest's and CinemaCon's "100 Million Dollar Salute," produced by Mitch Neuhauser and Bob and Jim Sunshine. He holds at BA from Marquette and an MS from Boston University. His novel "Prince Ric" and collection of short stories, "Growing Up Gay Stories" are available on Amazon Kindle.
