In THE THING IN THE BAG, an American Shakespearean actor who has been driven to insanity through his stage work meets a homeless Chinese woman who drags a literal bag behind her in which is contained, perhaps, the secrets of her tragic life. While paying happy homage to low budget horror movies, the film shows how quickly linguistic confusions can turn to utter madness as it explores the deeply interwoven natures of physical comedy and physical violence.
