Jhadipatti

Jhadipaatti, a region of 4 districts viz. Gadchiroli, Gondia, Bhandara and Chandrapur lies amidst the dense forests in Maharashtra. This region is not only enriched with Adivasi tribes and wild animals but is also a very sensitive zone due to extensive Naxalite movement. 'Jhadipatti Theatre', is a festival of drama celebrated every night for 6 months- Oct to March every year. It involves thousands of people comprising the organizers, actors and audiences from the surrounding villages. This Jhadipatti theatre is not only an entertainment package to all (including Naxalites) but also a source of employment and economic development leading to the social progress of this society.
