In September of 2002 the Harlem Globetrotters were inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame and they continue to entertain across the country to this day. What most people don't know, is that the Harlem Globetrotters played a vital role in not only the game's evolution and changing the general perception of African-American athletes but also in the integration of what would become the NBA as we know it today. The defining moment came in 1948, with a historic game between the Minneapolis Lakers, an all-white team and considered to be the best in the world, and the barnstorming Harlem Globetrotters. This is that story.
