El Vuelo (2018)

After the death of his grandfather, Julian goes to his funeral, where he meets the funeral home's janitor, Luisa. Convinced by a story he hears from Luisa that his grandfather has become a bird, Julian tells his two cousins about it. One of them leads them to play a game with which they can communicate with their grandfather in the afterlife. Julian becomes convinced of his own story to the point of seeing his grandfather transformed into a bird, which leads him to seek his own metamorphosis. "Flight" is inspired by the Latin American tradition of magical realism, with the intent of exploring how far a child's imagination may go and the extreme decisions it may lead him to make.
