The characters are celebrating a friends birthday party over a weekend. There is frequent drinking, characters having a smoke, there's also an argument over pills. The characters drive home together after all this.

The protagonist unknowingly inspects an abandoned car occupied by a houseless man off road in the country. The houseless man lunges out of the car and chases the protagonist back to his vehicle on the road, screaming obscenities and chasing him until he drives away. A startling scene to set the tone of the film.
