Alevism: The Secret Path of Anatolia (2019)

Director Serenay Yilmaz, embarks on a journey to discover her Alevi roots. The internet will tell you Alevism is a religious belief which branches off of Islam, but defamed researchers, writers and Alevi leaders will tell you that Alevism is a philosophy, and a secret brotherhood with roots dating back to 5000BC. There is no question that Alevism has been assimilated, to the point where it's true teachings and wisdom's are almost non-existent. This documentary will show the conflict, assimilation and confusion, and it will uncover the true Alevism.
