From the Ground Up (2014)

On April 29, 2013, Héctor Ponce de León, Mexican mountaineer and three-time conqueror of Everest, set a world record ascending non-stop from sea level in Veracruz to 5,700 meters (18,700 ft.) to the summit of the Pico de Orizaba, the highest peak in Mexico, in 15 hours and 22 minutes. Phase one: road bike. Phase two: mountain bike. Phase three: Running. Phase four: summit attack on foot. Nowhere else in the world had such a drastic elevation gain been attempted in so little time. The challenge provides an opportunity to get to know this ordinary, modest character, deemed interesting for his motivations and his past, through the eyes of family members, colleagues and experts.
