A Quiet War

A soldier in a war at the end of the universe returns to his home time and planet to resume his old life. But when a band of renegades arrives and begins preying on the town, he must choose between his desire to leave the war behind and protecting the people he loves at the potential cost of changing the future and the war's outcome.
