Jan van Opstal (choreographer, movement teacher and long-term survivor) and Jo Willems (art teacher) visited the Sister Mura Foundation in Johannesburg for the first time in 2017, a foundation that stands up for people infected with HIV. In the support group, members help each other in their struggle for a normal life. Many have left their homeland in the hope of gaining access to medication, but also to escape from the stigmas and taboos surrounding HIV / AIDS. The situation in South Africa is far from rosy. The stories in the support group made Jan and Jo think of the situation in the Netherlands in the 80s and 90s. Back then, they themselves suffered from similar stigmas, fear and ignorance. During this first visit one of the members said 'You work with Drama. We are Drama. Work with us. "An invitation that Jan and Jo have taken to heart.
