The P-51 Mustang left a game changing footprint during World War 2, earning a respect and following of aviation enthusiasts world wide. But the world famous P-51 "Miss America" carried the torch for P-51's alike in the sport of air racing from the early 60's to date. The most famous being the Reno Air Races held every September at the Stead Airport near Reno, Nevada. The impact of Miss A, number 11, influenced Cox Models to become a big sponsor and made a flying line control version that kids and adults could fly. In addition Revell models designed and sold a 1/32 scale model in her likeness for hobby enthusiasts worldwide. Miss America's beautiful Red, White, and Blue paint scheme has made her one of the most recognized P-51's today.
