A dark story that takes place in Prague tells a breaking point in the life of Martin Zubr, a young journalist. He finds out about a man called Deformer, a black market surgeon, that deforms peoples' faces. His purpose is to free them from their shallowness which they are happy to pay for. Zubr confronts Deformer and writes an article about him. During their meetings, Zubr starts to lose objectivity and the two become friends and share ideas. After Zubr releases the story, the public reacts differently than he expected: face deformations become a new trend - something shallow. The story of Deformer uses extreme examples to emphasise the modern society's way of thinking. It is a satire on the fact we communicate primarily through our looks and forget to focus on what is inside each one of us. Deformer manifests how desperate people can be and how far they can go for their looks. At the end of the day, even the deepest thought can turn out shallow.
