This documentary celebrates the Evolution of the Black Leading Man, from the beginning of the stereotypes created in "Birth of A Nation", to the original Black Leading Man Paul Robeson, through the Fifties with the ascension of Sidney Poitier to the mainstream Denzel Washington and a discussion of who is ready to accept the mantle now.
