Samantha

The film is a portrait of Samantha: transgender by concept, deaf by accident and artist by birth. It's a poetic investigation about a woman who lives in a temporary house for needy people in São Paulo, Brazil. Found at a bus station, alone and carrying no documents with herself, she almost doesn't speak or write, so her life is told by the voice of others, who gained her trust to do so. Now her artistry and craftwork are the way she chooses to carve her biography into this world. The film also touches on issues such as the social name of trans people, formal records of a person who lost everything and what it's like to be a deaf, transsexual artist living on a shelter.
