In a not-so-distant future, some have evolved to a point of telekinesis. Violet takes away other people's pain, but must feel it herself. Dylan shares highs, but must do the drugs himself. Hazel gives honesty only to go farther from her own truth. Simon shares pleasure so lives in constant pursuit of it. These are the Influentials.
