Beautiful Democracy (2017)

Beautiful Democracy is a bright and vibrant exploration of the art and activism surrounding the pro-Democracy movement in New Zealand. This short documentary follows three groups who are finding dynamic and unconventional ways to engage with, and defend their democratic right during a time of change and increasing international corporatization of power. Dance, Graffiti, and Non-Violent Direct Action are all employed as political tools by the impassioned artists and activists in this film. While political apathy and disenfranchisement increase all over the western world, these artists and activists fight to impact a system that has shut them out of the political process.
