Barnacles will grow on your heart (2009)

Mary's father is dying of cancer, but she hasn't spoken to him since he cut her off after she came out as gay. Still hurt and angry, she can't decide if she will try to see him before the end. Chhean is a Cambodian man who fishes off of the nearby jetty. The two of them share an uncommon friendship. When Chhean confides in her about the loss of his own father in the killing fields of the Khmer Rouge, Mary will finally come to a decision.
