Stand Up to the Night

Stand Up will inhabit a once-thriving, industrial, small town -- long since left behind, lost in time. The people found hope in their local boxing gym, which seemed acutely capable of producing promising young fighters. None was more celebrated than MAYA, who won the town's heart with her unmatched power in the ring. Maya's status as a local legend made it easy for the townsfolk to turn a blind eye on her growing influence in the local vice rackets. Fated to end poorly -- tragedy struck, and Maya disappeared as everything came crashing down on her. 15 years later. Maya is older, harder. She has never gone back, and she never plans to. The only problem is she left something behind, her brother. A cryptic, late night call from her sibling coaxes her back to the dying town, where she finds him -- on a cold slab at the morgue. His death written off as a suicide, Maya knows what she must do. She is going to kill her way to to truth, tearing through old friends and some vicious new ones in the process. All the while, she will desperately avoid catching feelings for the orphaned nephew her brother left behind.
