The setting of the movie is a decadent party hosted by two libertienes for the enjoyment of their equally debached friends. Hence, there is heavy drinking and drug use throughout most of the film.

An adolescent is killed in a pedestrian/vehicle accident. The father of the slain boy grieves heavily.

It is implied throughout that the Moroccans will torture, mutilate and kill one of the other characters. The audience does not get to find out the fate of this character with regards to torture or mutilation until near the end.
