Das Gelände (2014)

A piece of the city, as if burdened with a curse: headquarters of the Gestapo and the SS. This is where the terror and genocide in Europe 1933-1945 were planned, administered and from here it was carried out. In 27 years (1986-2013) the environment changes, but the terrain remains difficult to grasp, difficult to design. Attempts to deal with it are dared and rejected again. A long period of makeshift arrangements ends in 2010 with the construction of a much-visited documentation center.
