An unnamed woman has been been devastated by a violent assault.The devastation of her own spirit is mirrored in the film by the devastation of the planet through global warming. The Earth has been assaulted by humanity itself, and now can no longer recover. Like the woman, it too retreats, and is submerged beneath a damaged surface.
