It's 1975 and 12-year-old Helena lives in Caracas, Venezuela, after her family emigrated from Germany in the wake of WWII. In this oscillating tropical metropolis Helena tries to find her place between the cultures, as she rebels against her parents and plunges into her first love. Confronted with her homeland's recent history she is suddenly faced with the question of her parents' involvement in the crimes of the Nazis and a growing fundamental doubt threatens to shatter her entire world.
