In the second of two debates as part of the BBC Peacemakers season, The World Debate: Is Conflict Inevitable? comes from Denver, Colorado. Five eminent Nobel Peace laureates sit on the panel, including Oscar Arias Sanchez, President of Costa Rica, Betty Williams, peace activist,and Rigoberta Menchu. They gather to discuss the problem of conflict resolution and whether conflicts can ever be resolved through peaceful means. BBC World presenter Zeinab Badawi hosts the debate with an audience made up of 180 young people representing more than 20 countries.
