A Dream of Education in Modern India (2012)

This thought provoking documentary highlights the challenges and aspirations of dalit girls in a village in eastern Uttar Pradesh in India. Primary education is a fundamental right in Modern India and yet government schools here are riddled with corruption, mismanagement, and extreme apathy. The focus here is on one lower caste girl, Kusum, in village Mirdha, who has surmounted these obstacles to go on to College. The question is why she has succeeded, while others like her have not.
