This film focuses on redemption, the pursuit of happiness and the reality of his mistakes. The journey picks up after both the release of My Date with Hugh and Dave's release from jail. We also see his fight to not give up until he remedied his mistakes and repaid everyone. It's not a happy ending, but a content one.
