Ai Weiwei, the notorious conceptual artist, does not so much direct films, he designs them. His latest documentary is about his own arrest and incarceration for suspected tax evasion, which became world news. The film offers an extremely precise, chronological reconstruction of all the events in between Ai's arrest in 2011 and the Venice Biennial in 2013.
