Irina Boyarova is an Olympic champion in athletics. She has neither family nor friends - the whole life of the heroine is devoted to sports. Irina has an affair with a doctor Dima at a seaside resort. Both understand that their relationship is serious, but, coincidentally, the lovers part without confessing their love. Soon, Irina realizes that she is pregnant. She comes to Dima's place to tell him good news, but her bright hopes crumble overnight .
