After the recent economic downturn, it seems that there are fewer and fewer jobs for television actors in the UK. The last thing a down-on-his-luck star wants to do is go back to bar tending or selling cars. It's time to go west, and relocate to the bright lights of Hollywood! The Americans are suckers for a British accent and wonky teeth, right? Andy (known to his friends as 'British Andy') has done it all: Doctors, Corrie, Casualty, The Bill (RIP), 'Enders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Heartbeat. Outside of his native Hull, however, he still doesn't get recognized in the supermarket. Now he wants to take it to the next level: super stardom, via Hollywood. 'British Andy' is a mockumentary series where we follow Andy's pursuit of global acclaim through the gold-paved streets of Hollywood. In tow is his trusty long suffering 'assistant' Lizzie, or, as Andy introduces her to everyone 'Lazy Lizzie.' This 8 episode series will follow the highs and lows of the pair's dreams and ambitions of 'making it in Hollywood,' whatever that means!
