A young man and a young woman are having a romantic conversation while lying next to eachother in bed, clearly naked, although with a blanket covering their legs and (most of) their hip areas. In a subsequent shot, the man's hairy chest is in clear view, one of the woman's nipples is briefly visible.

A man ruthlessly strikes a dog to death with one forceful blow of his cane. During the scene, the dog is out of view of the camera, but the scene may be extra intense because the camera captures the event from (close to) the dog's perspective. (No blood or gore.)

A close-up on a man's chest while he cuts himself with a knife and removes his own heart. This scene is shown twice in the movie.

In the den of one of the characters in the forest, several human hearts are seen hanging from ropes fixed to tree branches. (The characters that these hearts belong to are still alive, but their hearts are mentioned to have been replaced with stones.) Throughout the movie, there are also several scenes with close-ups of human hearts.
