Panther Meadows on Mount Shasta in Northern California was nearly devastated by too much love during the first Harmonic Convergence in 1987 when thousands of spiritual and environmentally awakened souls came together to camp, sing, pray and dance in the meadow with the legendary reputation as a place of renewal, healing and rebirth. Unfortunately, the area is a very fragile ecosystem that wasn't able to handle that many people at once. The Mount Shasta Bio-regional Ecology Center was founded a year later to protect and replant the area that was nearly trampled into extinction. For the last 25 years, M.S.B.E.C.'s volunteers, in conjunction with the U.S.F.S. and the local Native American Tribes have returned the area to almost 100% of it's pristine state.
