During a dream sequence a man and a woman are shown having intercourse. She is on top of him fully nude, she is shown from the side and front though arms and set dressing are always strategically blocking any explicit content.

A woman is shown suddenly who has a face that appears to have been mangled by a vicious animal. The scene is not meant to suggest those with physical deformities are monsters but as a shock to the unsuspecting main character.

Unknown creatures prowl the edges of the shadows throughout the film. Their appearance once revealed is a profane mockery of the human condition: lithe almost emaciated, filthy, their faces resemble skulls, and they go about in a hunched lopping fashion.

Several fairly explicit surgery scenes, including a woman's stomach being sliced open for a c section.
