It is a complete war base movie. No sex or nudity shown in the movie. Not even kissing. A few men are seen in their underwear.

Brief violence when a group of soldiers storm a trench. There is sight of shooting and a fleeting image of a bayonette being stabbed into a body.

Terms such as damn, bloody and buggered are used. Some of the jokes are risque and some of the dialogue suggestive.

A few scenes of moderate alcohol consumption, and a few scenes of cigarette smoking, not inappropriate for soldiers during the First World War.

Set in WWI, so has themes of death throughout. Characters hunker down from gas and explosions. Characters are heard to have died.
