'The Framing of Joe Paterno' is the story of how the news media rushed to judgment to 'convict' former Penn State football coach Joe Paterno for crimes which were committed by his former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky. The film examines what the media got wrong and seeks to correct the historical record about what really happened in this story. The film does not put forward a conspiracy theory, but rather uses the term 'framing' in figurative, not literal terms. The filmmaker behind this work has actually spoken to more people directly involved in the case than the investigators whose report condemned Paterno.
