Grace and Beauty (2012)

'Grace and Beauty: 150 Years of the Episcopal Church in Hawai'i' unfolds the story of how the Episcopal church was founded by King Kamehameha IV and Queen Emma and built by the bishops and laity that followed. A highlight in the documentary is the telling of the turbulent events that led up to this Anglican Church becoming part of the American Episcopal Church after the overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom and demise of its monarchy. The story of Hawaii's Episcopal church celebrates the vision King Kamehameha V and Queen Emma to establish a Christian church for the people and a spiritual community that respected their Hawaiian culture.
