Almost 100 years ago an obscure scientific discovery was made. It was discovered that certain marine organisms fluoresce (glow) under ultraviolet light. Over the course of the past decade, this exciting news has stayed largely hidden from the general public and very little research has been conducted nor good photographic evidence presented. Today, a diverse group of divers, which include a biologist, photographer, filmmaker, and safety diver, are on a mission to document this fluorescence, share it with the world, and understand its mystery. Under the cover of darkness, they dive into a pitch black ocean, discovering glowing marine organisms that no one has ever seen before. By sharing their images, they hope to solve the mystery of fluorescence, capture the imagination of the public, and ultimately change the way the natural world is seen.
