Food of the Gods

A pair of academics approach a single female farmer who has fallen upon hard times, offering to rent her chicken coup so that they can research building a better chicken. The resulting experiments go haywire, causing aggressive mutant farm animals to run amok on the small town. Jurassic Park in your own backyard.
